Project Controls Lead - Data Center Construction

For our client, we are seeking a Project Controls Lead - Data Center Construction to join the team of a leader in the Real Estate & Construction space.

This role will oversee project controls across a significant portfolio of data center construction projects, with a strong emphasis on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and risk management. The position partners closely with site schedulers, project managers, and leadership to maintain financial visibility and support timely decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong construction planning expertise and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across complex, fast-moving project environments.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide preconstruction support and historical cost data
• Manage internal budget and financial reporting
• Oversee external project communications and budget management
• Conduct monthly forecasts and cash flow analysis
• Review vendor invoices and manage the invoicing process
• Responsible for accurate quarterly accrual reporting
• Facilitate change order process and approvals
• Review project financial health with management
• Update risk registers and evaluate contingencies
• Perform financial closeout of budgets and contracts
• Coordinate with Site Scheduler on financial forecasts
• Assist with training and program alignment
• Manage a team of 3-5 staff across multiple sites
• QAQC deliverables and ensure timelines are met

Qualifications

• BA/BS in construction management or engineering
• 8+ years in construction and project planning
• Strong collaboration skills
• Experienced with Primavera P6 and MS Office
• Familiar with cost control tools like eBuilder or Procore
• Ability to communicate financial and schedule details effectively
• Excellent analytical and presentation skills
