Project Coodinator / Joinery

About the role

You will work closely with our Directors, Design Team, Production Team, Site Teams and clients to coordinate projects and ensure program, design and budget remain under control throughout delivery. You'll be the person who knows where the project is at, what needs to happen next, what's holding it up and who needs to take action. This is not an administration role. We need someone who understands joinery, construction and project delivery, can get across the detail of a project quickly, and takes responsibility for making sure issues are closed out before they become problems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage project programs, milestones and critical dates
• Coordinate design, approvals, procurement, production, shipping and installation requirements
• Identify risks to program early and drive actions to keep projects moving
• Follow up outstanding information and ensure commitments are closed out
• Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams when dates or priorities change
• Coordinate the shop drawing and design process with internal design team and clients
• Track RFIs, design changes, approvals, samples and outstanding information
• Make sure the design team has the information required to meet production deadlines
• Identify discrepancies and potential issues before they reach manufacture or site
• Track project costs and identify potential budget impacts

About you

• Experience in joinery, cabinetry, fitout or a similar construction environment
• Highly organised, detail-driven person who takes ownership
• Understands how construction projects actually get delivered
• Can read drawings and understand joinery details
• Comfortable dealing directly with builders, clients, designers, suppliers and site teams
• Strong commercial awareness
• Can manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Communicates problems early rather than waiting for them to escalate
• Confident enough to pick up the phone and solve problems
• can clearly understand and implement progress claims
• Takes pride in being across the detail
