Project Coordinator Transformation

“Mā te mahi tahi ka ea ngā mahi”

Through working together, the tasks are accomplished.

One-year fixed-term/contract, with the potential to be extended depending on project progress and requirements**.**| Auckland.

Be at the centre of a significant organisational transformation and help turn plans into action.

Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) is looking for an experienced and highly organised Project Coordinator to support the delivery of an important programme of change across our organisation.

Working closely with the Executive Lead, Transformation, you will play an important role in keeping projects moving, bringing structure to complex workstreams and ensuring key actions, milestones and deliverables stay on track.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being across the detail while also understanding the bigger picture. You will work with leaders and stakeholders from across AKA, supporting effective planning, communication, reporting and implementation.

About the role

You will be responsible for coordinating a range of activities across the transformation programme, including:

  • Maintaining project plans, timelines, milestones and key documentation
  • Monitoring progress and following up actions to keep workstreams on track
  • Coordinating meetings, priorities, schedules and project activities
  • Preparing presentations, reports and project documentation
  • Supporting governance reporting for the Board, Executive Leadership Team and Transformation Governance Group
  • Analysing and managing complex project information and data (including numerical data?) or is that too much information?
  • Building strong relationships across multiple stakeholder groups
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Providing practical problem solving and coordination support as priorities evolve

You will often be the person connecting the dots, identifying what needs attention and making sure the right people have the information they need.

About you

We are looking for someone who brings strong project coordination experience along with excellent judgement, communication and relationship building skills.

You will ideally have:

  • Around 3 to 5 years’ experience in project coordination, project administration or a similar role
  • Experience supporting project planning, implementation and organisational change
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Confidence working with multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, reporting and problem solving capability
  • The ability to influence and build relationships without relying on formal authority
  • High emotional intelligence and the confidence to identify and raise emerging issues
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with MS Project or similar project planning tools
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business, project management or a related field

You will be comfortable working in an environment where priorities can shift, information needs to be brought together quickly and strong relationships are essential.

Why join AKA?

Ngā Tamariki Puāwai o Tāmaki | Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA) is a large not for profit organisation with a proud history of providing early childhood education across Tāmaki Makaurau. Our work is driven by purpose, with a strong commitment to supporting tamariki, whānau and communities.
