Project Coordinator

Emery Telecommunications & Video has an opening for a Project Coordinator position at the Orangeville office. This person plans, directs and coordinates activities for existing or newly assigned projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within the prescribed time frame. This would include but is not limited to developing supporting documentation, the management of customer facing activities, and new program support, as required. This person may be assigned to multiple concurrent projects of a routine nature, a small number of projects of moderate complexity, or a mixture. This person manages daily aspects of projects; manages changes in project scope and goals, and revises project plans. This person will also manage budgets and timelines.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

• New Project Development – This person must quickly be able to develop the scope of projects and tasks assigned. This will include gaining an understanding of all expectations, and performing pre-engineering work, field visits, and other preparatory tasks.

• Cost Estimation and Forecasting - This person must be able to accurately provide cost estimations and cost forecasts for management on all projects assigned. This will include large and small cost estimates. This person must be very proficient in using Excel and other cost estimation software as well as possess cost estimation skills.

• Mapping/Computer Skills – This person must have or be able to gain proficiency in Google Earth and similar design and mapping software tools. These tools will be used for design, analysis, and job tracking requirements. This person must be comfortable on a computer and using different software platforms.

• Project Coordination Work – This person will serve as the main point of contact for all projects assigned. This person will work with contractors and internal employees to complete all projects.

• Permitting and right-of-way work - This person will oversee the necessary permits and right-of-way agreements to complete the projects as assigned. This person will be working with DOT and city projects and coordinating with them on protecting our facilities within their projects. Experience with DOT policies and procedures as well as experience working in DOT Right of Way would be a plus.

• Relationship Building – This person must foster positive relationships with all organizations and entities involved in projects. This may include Emery Telcom customers, contractors, government agencies, private agencies, landowners, etc.

• Reporting – This person will need to provide continuous reports and updates on project progress, project changes, and related information as needed. Gantt chart experience a plus.

• This person must have strong analytical skills. This person must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• This person must possess the ability to be organized. This job requires the ability to pay close attention to detail and the possess the ability to work under tight deadlines. This person must be able to collaborate across departments and with external entities.

• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering or a similar technical field is preferred. Relevant related experience will also be considered.

Position Status: This is a full-time position with excellent benefits. This person will work out of the Orangeville engineering office but will be asked to travel to assigned project sites.
