What they need
Salute is a rapidly expanding company and a recognized leader in providing cutting-edge datacenter infrastructure services. We are committed to sustainability, unmatched reliability, and exceptional customer service. As we continue our growth trajectory, we are looking for a reliable, experienced, and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our team and help elevate our client relationships to new heights.
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Project Coordinator with an electrical bias to support the delivery of construction and infrastructure projects within data centre environments across the Amsterdam region.
This is a hands-on project coordination role combining site-based delivery support, planning, technical coordination and project administration. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, engineering teams, contractors, suppliers and client stakeholders to ensure projects are planned effectively, coordinated safely and delivered in accordance with programme, quality and technical requirements.
Previous data centre experience would be advantageous but is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates from construction, building services, industrial, engineering or other technically complex environments who have strong organisational skills and a good understanding of electrical and construction principles.
The role requires flexibility, with time split between project sites, home working and occasional travel to other locations as required
Key Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator will support the project team across the full project lifecycle, including:
Coordinating day-to-day project activities between the Project Manager, client, contractors, consultants, suppliers and site teams.
Supporting the planning and sequencing of construction activities and maintaining short-term look-ahead programmes.
Monitoring project actions, milestones, dependencies and deliverables and following up with responsible parties to maintain progress.
Attending project, site and coordination meetings and ensuring actions are accurately recorded, assigned and closed out.
Supporting the coordination of electrical installations and associated building-services interfaces.
Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and technical documentation to develop an understanding of project requirements and identify coordination issues.
Supporting site surveys, inspections and verification of existing installations and site conditions.
Coordinating contractors and specialist suppliers working within operational or construction environments.
Monitoring site progress against agreed programmes and providing clear progress updates to the Project Manager.
Identifying potential programme, technical, logistical or interface risks and escalating these at an early stage
Electrical Focus
The role does not require the individual to act as the project's Electrical Design Engineer; however, a good practical understanding of electrical engineering and electrical construction is required.
Ideally, candidates will have experience or knowledge of some of the following:
LV electrical distribution systems
MV systems and associated infrastructure
Switchgear and distribution boards
UPS systems and battery installations
Standby generators
ATS / STS systems
Cable containment and cabling
Earthing and bonding
Electrical controls and monitoring systems
BMS / EPMS interfaces
Testing and commissioning
Electrical isolation, LOTO and safe systems of work
Experience within live or operational environments where continuity of service is critical would be particularly valuable.
General Duties
Supporting the preparation and review of RAMS, permits, work plans, technical submittals and other project documentation.
Assisting with procurement activities, equipment schedules, delivery planning and coordination of long-lead items.
Maintaining project trackers, drawing registers, RFI schedules, action logs, change registers and other project controls.
Supporting quality inspections, snagging, testing, commissioning and project close-out activities.
Coordinating completion documentation including test records, as-built information, O&M documentation and handover records.
Supporting safe working practices and ensuring project activities are coordinated in accordance with site and client procedures.
Maintaining effective communication between site teams and project stakeholders throughout delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a project coordination, construction coordination, site coordination, engineering coordination or similar role.
An electrical background, electrical bias or demonstrable understanding of electrical engineering and installation principles.
Good understanding of construction processes and the sequencing of site activities.
Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to project administration.
Good communication skills and confidence working with contractors, engineers, clients and other stakeholders.
Ability to identify problems, follow actions through to completion and escalate issues when required.
Competent user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
Ability to travel to project sites within the Amsterdam region and elsewhere in the Netherlands when required.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities or live operational environments.
Experience within MEP, electrical contracting, building services, industrial or technically complex construction projects.
Experience using project planning or project management software.
Experience with commissioning, QA/QC or project handover processes.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM or drawing-management platforms.
Qualifications
Good written and spoken English – essential.
Electrical or engineering qualification at vocational, HNC/HND, MBO/HBO or equivalent level – desirable.
VCA safety certification or equivalent – desirable.
Understanding of Dutch electrical standards and working practices, including NEN 1010 and NEN 3140 – desirable.
Dutch language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
Working Arrangement
Location: Amsterdam Region, Netherlands
Working Pattern: Hybrid – site based / home working
Employment Type: Full-time
This is a hybrid role, combining site-based project coordination with home working.
The amount of time spent on site will vary depending on the stage and requirements of individual projects. Candidates must therefore be comfortable with a flexible working arrangement and regular travel to data centre and construction sites, primarily within the Amsterdam region.
The position provides an opportunity to work within a rapidly developing sector and would suit someone looking to further develop their career in project management, engineering coordination or data centre construction.
If you are a motivated and results-driven individual with a passion for data center services and a knack for building strong client relationships, we want to hear from you. Join us in revolutionizing the data center industry and apply today!
Here, at Salute, we value our people and take great pride providing not just a job but fantastic career opportunities.
