Project Coordinator (Construction)

About the role

Eltraco is a Singapore specialist roofing and building-envelope contractor looking for a hands-on Project Coordinator to join our Operations team in Singapore. The successful candidate will be employed in Singapore and based at our Bukit Batok office, with regular travel to construction sites throughout Singapore. This is a development role. Previous roofing experience is not required. The successful candidate will initially work closely with our Director and experienced project/site personnel, learn how we manage projects, and progressively take on greater responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate construction projects, site works, manpower, materials, deliveries and work schedules.
• Liaise with builders, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, site supervisors and workers.
• Attend site, coordination and technical meetings where required.
• Follow up on drawings, safety submissions, material requirements, deliveries, inspections, site readiness and outstanding matters.
• Coordinate delivery and hoisting arrangements with the project team.
• Monitor project progress and highlight delays, missing information, site constraints or other issues early.
• Keep clear written records of important discussions, instructions, changes, delays and outstanding matters.
• Follow up assigned matters until they are properly closed.
• When problems arise, first understand the situation, check the available facts and discuss possible solutions before escalating where possible.

About you

• Be able to communicate in English, as the role involves regular coordination with English (and sometimes Mandarin) speaking workers, suppliers and project parties.
• Be able to write clear and understandable WhatsApp messages and basic emails in English.
• Be organised and able to keep track of several ongoing matters at the same time.
• Be proactive and willing to ask questions, check facts and think through possible solutions.
• Be willing to learn construction, roofing and technical matters.
• Be comfortable working both in the office and on construction sites.
• Be comfortable working at height, including accessing roofs and elevated work areas when required, subject to proper site access, training, PPE and fall-protection requirements.
• Be prepared to work extended construction hours when project requirements demand it, including early starts, late finishes and occasional weekend work.
• Hold a valid driving licence and be willing to obtain/convert to a Singapore Class 3 driving licence as soon as eligible, as driving to project sites will form part of the role.
