Project Coordinator – Fire Protection, Fire Suppression, and Security Systems

About the role

Coordinate fire detection and alarm, fire suppression, sprinkler, and security-system projects from mobilization through testing, commissioning, and turnover.

Key responsibilities

• Assist project managers and engineers in preparing project schedules, work plans, budgets, material requirements, and progress reports
• Review project drawings, technical specifications, bills of quantities, and approved material submittals
• Coordinate site activities involving fire alarm systems, automatic sprinkler systems, clean-agent suppression, kitchen suppression, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and related systems
• Monitor project milestones, manpower deployment, material deliveries, installation progress, testing, and commissioning activities
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, designers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
• Schedule meetings, site inspections, testing activities, and client demonstrations
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including submittals, requests for information, inspection requests, permits, reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence
• Track procurement and delivery of equipment and materials to ensure availability according to the project schedule
• Assist in preparing quotations, variation orders, progress billings, and cost-monitoring reports
• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, manufacturer requirements, project specifications, safety regulations, and applicable fire and building codes

About you

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field
• Previous experience in project coordination, construction, building systems, or a related technical industry
• Working knowledge of fire protection, fire detection and alarm, fire suppression, and electronic security systems
• Ability to understand technical drawings, schematics, specifications, and bills of quantities
• Familiarity with applicable fire-safety, building, electrical, and occupational-safety codes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project-scheduling or task-management applications
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and construction-document management systems is an advantage
• Strong organizational, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
• Willingness to conduct site visits and coordinate with field personnel, clients, and contractors
