Project Coordinator – High Voltage Power Transformers

Akens\Nordburg is looking for a Project Coordinator – High Voltage Power Transformers for an international industrial company active in the supply, installation and commissioning of high-voltage power transformers in Spain.

The selected professional will act as the main local coordination interface between the client, major utility customers, local subcontractors and the company’s international operations and factory teams.

The role combines local project coordination, technical follow-up, documentation management and occasional site support.

Main responsibilities

• Coordinate project activities between the client, utility customers and local subcontractors.
• Follow up schedules, site readiness, deliveries and project milestones.
• Coordinate subcontractors involved in transportation, unloading, assembly, installation, oil-related activities and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
• Prepare and follow up technical, safety and subcontractor documentation required by the customer.
• Coordinate site surveys, access and readiness prior to delivery and installation.
• Support the company’s Site Supervisor during assembly, installation and commissioning when required.
• Maintain regular communication with international headquarters and factory teams, reporting progress, risks and outstanding actions.

Candidate profile

• Technical background in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy or a related field, although strong practical experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
• Relevant experience in electrical infrastructure, energy, substations, high-voltage equipment or power transformers.
• Experience coordinating technical projects, subcontractors and site activities.
• Previous experience working with major utilities in Spain would be highly valued.
• Experience in transformer installation, commissioning or SAT would be an advantage.
• Fluent Spanish and good professional English.
• Strong organisational, coordination and communication skills.
• High level of autonomy and a practical, solution-oriented approach.
• Availability to travel within Spain and attend project sites when required.
• Driving licence.

The position is primarily aimed at a senior professional with relevant experience in high-voltage, transformer, substation or utility projects. Candidates with a strong practical background may be considered regardless of years of experience.
