Project Coordinator – Refrigeration Projects

About the role

Alkar Refrigeration Services is a family-owned business established in 1970 that delivers commercial refrigeration projects, including supermarket installations and refurbishments, coldrooms, freezer rooms and equipment upgrades. You'll coordinate our installation projects, keeping people, materials, schedules and paperwork moving from planning through to completion. Reporting to our Operations Manager / CEO, you'll coordinate day-to-day project activities, with experienced management available to support technical and commercial decisions. This role combines responsibility for project organisation with hands-on administration. You'll take pride in keeping both the work and the details under control, from organising an upcoming installation to ensuring purchasing and invoicing are up to date.

Key responsibilities

• Scheduling technicians, apprentices and subcontractors across installation projects.
• Coordinating material orders, raising purchase orders and following up suppliers and deliveries.
• Keeping schedules and project information current so the team knows what is needed and when.
• Preparing invoices and tracking progress claims.
• Monitoring project costs, margins and variations, and bringing issues to management's attention early.
• Coordinating project completion, handover and supporting documentation.
• Identifying practical improvements to how we plan, organise and administer projects.

About you

• Has demonstrated the ability to coordinate people, schedules, suppliers or competing priorities.
• Plans ahead, follows up outstanding tasks and sees work through to completion.
• Communicates clearly and works respectfully with office staff, tradespeople and suppliers.
• Is accurate with paperwork, comfortable working with numbers and confident using computers and spreadsheets.
• Takes responsibility, asks questions when needed and brings forward ideas and solutions.
• Wants to learn, contribute to the team and develop greater responsibility over time.
• Building, construction or refrigeration knowledge is highly preferred, but not essential.
