The Opportunity

Ford Custom Build is seeking a Project Developer / Estimator to support our residential design-build projects through estimating, scope development, pre-construction planning, and job-costing review.

This position works closely with our Designers, Project Director, Project Managers, Trade Partners, and vendors to make sure projects are accurately priced, clearly scoped, and ready for construction.

Responsibilities

• Develop preliminary and detailed project budgets in JobTread.
• Develop clear and complete scopes of work.
• Solicit, compare, and review Trade Partner and vendor quotes for accuracy, detail, and alignment with project scope.
• Identify missing scope, exclusions, assumptions, pricing discrepancies, and cost risks. Coordinate pricing, constructability, site visits, and outstanding project information.
• Keep estimating and job-costing information current in JobTread.
• Prepare projects for a clear handoff from Project Development to Production.
• Regularly review active-project job costing in JobTread.
• Identify cost variances, missing costs, incorrect entries, or other items requiring attention.
• Use actual project results to improve future estimating and planning.

What We're Looking For

• Strong residential construction knowledge.
• Experience with estimating, project budgeting, pre-construction, or a related construction role.
• Ability to read plans, understand scope, and evaluate Trade Partner and vendor pricing.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to identify problems and communicate them early.
• Comfortable working with construction software and learning JobTread.
• Collaborative, accountable, and interested in continually improving the process.

What Success Looks Like Projects are accurately estimated, clearly scoped, and construction-ready. JobTread contains reliable cost information, pricing and scope issues are identified early, and actual project results are used to improve future estimates and protect project profitability.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
