Job Summary

The Project Development Specialist shall provide technical and administrative support to the Air and Water Permitting Section in the processing and evaluation of discharge permit applications. The position involves assisting in permit screening, records management, database maintenance, preparation of official communications, and other permitting-related functions to support the efficient implementation of environmental permitting services.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Sanitary, or Industrial Engineer.
• Knowledge of environmental permitting processes and applicable environmental laws is an advantage.
• Computer literate, particularly in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
• With good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical and Administrative Support

• Assist in the screening and evaluation of all discharge permit applications, including new, renewal, and amendment applications.
• Assist in the encoding and processing of discharge permit applications.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the Water Permitting Unit database.
• Draft official communications, endorsement letters, and other permitting-related correspondence.
• Provide administrative and technical support in the implementation of permitting activities.
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Chief, Air and Water Permitting Section and CPD Management.
