Project: NNDC-II - 20MW IT-capacity AI data centre

Lead the delivery of a major AI data centre development, working with local and international consultants, contractors and technology suppliers. The appointment level will reflect the successful candidate's experience and demonstrated project delivery record. About the role NNDC is seeking an experienced Project Manager or Project Director to manage design coordination, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning and handover for NNDC-II in Cyberjaya. The project is intended to support high-density AI computing, liquid cooling and Tier III design objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project scope, budget, programme, quality, safety and delivery milestones; report progress and risks to senior management.

• Coordinate architects, engineers, the appointed main contractor, specialist subcontractors and equipment suppliers across civil, structural, architectural and M&E; packages.

• Review designs and technical submissions against customer requirements, constructability, operating needs and approved specifications.

• Coordinate utility connections and authority approvals through the appointed consultants and relevant parties.

• Manage tender evaluations, procurement schedules, long-lead equipment, variations, payment recommendations and cost forecasts.

• Oversee installation, liquid-cooling integration, commissioning, integrated systems testing, defect resolution and customer handover. Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a relevant discipline.

• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience for Project Manager; 15+ years and proven overall delivery leadership for Project Director.

• Proven data centre construction experience, including direct responsibility for M&E; coordination and testing or commissioning. Completed projects of comparable scale are preferred.

• Sound knowledge of critical power, UPS, generators, cooling systems, controls and redundancy. AI infrastructure and direct liquid cooling experience are advantageous.

• Strong planning, contract administration, cost control and multidisciplinary team management skills, with practical Malaysian project delivery experience.

• Good English communication skills. Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin are advantageous for coordination with local authorities and international suppliers. Relevant professional registration or PMP certification is an advantage.
