Project Director – Electrical | Major Infrastructure Project

• Location: East
• Monday - Friday: 8.30AM - 6PM
• Expected Onboarding: Q1 2027
• Standby Requirement: 24/7 standby may be required depending on project and operational needs.

A well-established Singapore engineering and construction company specialising in electrical, mechanical and multidisciplinary building services for major infrastructure, industrial and mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Project Leadership

• Provide overall strategic, financial and operational leadership for large-scale electrical and multidisciplinary construction projects.
• Oversee a major electrical project from planning and execution through to final handover.
• Align project objectives with business goals, profitability targets and long-term growth strategies.
• Lead high-level resource planning, including manpower, equipment, subcontractors and strategic vendor partnerships.

Financial & Commercial Management

• Take ownership of project financial performance, profitability, budgeting and cost forecasting.
• Lead negotiations for major client contracts, subcontract packages and commercial agreements.
• Oversee variations, change orders, claims and commercial disputes.
• Identify and mitigate key financial, contractual and project risks.

Stakeholder & Client Management

• Act as the senior escalation point for key clients, developers, main contractors and relevant authorities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure project governance, quality standards and EHS requirements are consistently maintained.
• Provide strategic direction to ensure project milestones, quality and commercial objectives are achieved.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Engineering Heads and other project leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement across project delivery and engineering operations.
• Promote the use of digital project management and tracking tools to improve project visibility and efficiency.
• Establish performance standards and provide strategic guidance across engineering and project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) qualification or relevant professional status is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical design, engineering and project delivery.
• Strong experience in mission-critical, utility, industrial, infrastructure or airport projects.
• Experience in large-scale or hyperscale projects will be highly advantageous.
• Experienced in reviewing and approving electrical/vendor drawings and technical submissions.
• Strong commercial, contractual and risk-management capabilities.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Able to manage multiple deliverables and make strategic decisions under tight project schedules.
• Willing to be on 24/7 standby when required, despite the standard 5-day work week.
