Project Director - Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Net Pacific, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Director - Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic construction and project management team in Taguig City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to lead large-scale mechanical engineering projects from conception through completion. As Project Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery, ensuring that mechanical systems are designed, installed and commissioned to the highest standards. This role is critical to our continued success and reputation as a leader in construction project management, requiring you to drive project excellence whilst managing teams, stakeholders and complex technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all phases of mechanical engineering projects, from initial planning and design through to commissioning and handover
• Manage project budgets, timelines and resources to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within financial parameters
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment with project objectives
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including mechanical system specifications, installation schedules and quality assurance protocols
• Monitor project progress and performance metrics, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as required
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all relevant standards and building codes
• Oversee the procurement of mechanical equipment and materials, ensuring value for money and adherence to quality specifications
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify that mechanical works meet design specifications and safety requirements
• Manage project documentation, including technical reports, drawings, change orders and contract administration
• Provide technical expertise and strategic direction on mechanical systems integration and optimisation

What we're looking for

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
• Professional engineering registration or licensure as a Mechanical Engineer
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a project management or project director role
• Proven track record of successfully directing large-scale construction projects involving complex mechanical systems
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building services, plumbing, fire protection systems and mechanical equipment installation
• Excellent understanding of building codes, safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements in the Philippines and international jurisdictions
• Demonstrated expertise in project planning, budgeting, scheduling and resource management
• Proficiency with project management software and CAD applications
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and develop technical staff
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively
• Experience in contract administration and procurement management
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to risk management
