Project Engineer (Preconstruction & Estimating)

Location: Quito, Ecuador (In-Person Only)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our growing team in Quito, Ecuador. This is an in-office position and requires daily attendance at our Quito office. Remote work is not available.

The Project Engineer will play a key role in supporting both our Estimating and Preconstruction departments throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and eager to work in a fast-paced construction environment supporting projects for a U.S.-based company.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Estimating

• Prepare quantity takeoffs and material takeoffs.
• Assist with estimate markups and cost analysis.
• Solicit and manage Requests for Bid (RFBs) and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) from vendors and subcontractors.
• Support the development of accurate project cost estimates.
• Organize and maintain estimating documentation.

Preconstruction

• Coordinate procurement of project materials.
• Assist with project scheduling and preconstruction planning.
• Prepare, track, and manage submittals and RFI's.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Support project planning to ensure successful execution.

Qualifications (All Required)

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 2 consecutive years employment with the same employer.
• Professional proficiency in English (spoken, written, and reading).
• Ability to commute daily to our office in Quito, Ecuador.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with construction estimating software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous construction industry experience.
• Experience working with a U.S.-based construction company or supporting U.S. construction projects.
• Experience with estimating, procurement, scheduling, or preconstruction processes.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
