Project Engineer (Based Pulau Indah)

About the role

We are seeking a talented Project Engineer to join the Mewah Group team at our Pulau Indah facility in Selangor, Malaysia. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects within our organisation. As a Project Engineer, you will be at the heart of our operations, bridging the gap between conceptual design and practical implementation whilst ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for new projects and initiatives
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design specifications, reports, and technical drawings
• Liaise with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and senior management to ensure project alignment with organisational objectives
• Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from the plan
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements throughout project delivery
• Conduct quality assurance checks and testing to verify that deliverables meet specified standards
• Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies where necessary
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to operational teams
• Maintain detailed records and produce regular progress reports for stakeholders

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline) or equivalent professional qualification
• 1-3 years of experience in project engineering, preferably within the manufacturing, processing, or industrial sectors
• Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
• Proficiency in using project management software and engineering design tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify technical challenges and develop practical solutions
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across multiple departments
• Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and controlling project costs
• A thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical drawing software such as AutoCAD
• Professional certifications in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2) or related fields would be advantageous
• Experience working in fast-paced, regulated environments is highly desirable
