Technical Project Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an On-Site Technical Project Engineer to support an automotive engineering data and service documentation initiative for a major mobility technology organization. This individual will work closely with on-site engineering and data management teams while coordinating with a distributed technical documentation group. The role serves as the primary liaison between local engineering stakeholders and remote contributors, ensuring technical information is accurate, complete, and delivered according to project expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for engineering and data management stakeholders regarding technical service documentation activities
• Support the development, entry, and validation of service-related technical data, including component removal and installation procedures and routine maintenance instructions
• Research and verify technical information using product lifecycle management systems, CAD models, engineering documentation, and existing technical publications
• Coordinate with engineering stakeholders to resolve technical questions from remote documentation teams and communicate findings in a timely manner
• Review completed documentation for technical accuracy, completeness, consistency, and adherence to established templates and quality standards
• Monitor project progress, production output, outstanding issues, and delivery milestones, providing regular updates to project leadership
• Identify and escalate potential risks involving system access, technical resources, project timelines, or deliverable quality
• Coordinate project closeout activities, including final quality reviews, outstanding item documentation, knowledge transfer, and delivery handoff

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Five or more years of experience in technical project coordination, engineering support, technical documentation, or a related field
• Experience collaborating directly with automotive OEM engineering teams
• Working knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and the ability to navigate CAD models, engineering assemblies, and product structures
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities
• Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently
• Collaborative approach with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating technical teams and managing project deliverables
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with OEM engineering data, technical source documentation, and product information systems
• Experience supporting electric vehicle, autonomous mobility, or other advanced automotive platforms
• Understanding of automotive engineering principles, standards, and development practices
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet demanding project deadlines

Additional Requirements

• Must reside within the West Coast region of the United States
• Must be available to work on-site full time
• Limited domestic or international travel may be required
