Project Engineer - Cathodic Protection (Electrical)

About the role

Support the design, installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of ICCP and SACP cathodic protection systems. Prepare engineering calculation, technical drawings, equipment specifications, method statements, material submissions and project documentation. Conduct and supervise site installation, field surveys, testing and commissioning, including pipe-to-soil potential, voltage/current and continuity measurements. Analyse field data and prepare technical reports, survey reports and engineering recommendations. Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to meet project specifications, safety, schedule and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design, installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of ICCP and SACP cathodic protection systems
• Prepare engineering calculation, technical drawings, equipment specifications, method statements, material submissions and project documentation
• Assist with selection and specification of transformer rectifiers, anodes, reference electrodes, cables, junction boxes and monitoring equipment
• Conduct and supervise site installation, field surveys, testing and commissioning, including pipe-to-soil potential, voltage/current and continuity measurements
• Analyse field data and prepare technical reports, survey reports and engineering recommendations
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to meet project specifications, safety, schedule and quality requirements
• Attend technical/site meetings and assist with tender preparation, technical proposals, bill of quantities and project execution through commissioning

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
• Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in electrical engineering, industrial projects, oil & gas, utilities, infrastructure, construction, maintenance, testing & commissioning or field engineering
• Strong understanding of voltage, current, resistance, continuity, DC circuits and electrical troubleshooting with ability to read electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and layouts
• Able and willing to perform hands-on site work, testing, measurements and field troubleshooting
• Good analytical, problem-solving, technical reporting and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Possess a valid Class D driving license and be willing to travel outstation and work at project sites when required
• Self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently with minimum supervision and within a multidisciplinary team
