Project Engineer

About the role

i-Lab Engineering Pte Ltd is seeking a Project Engineer to join our operation team on a full-time basis. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of our engineering projects from conception through to completion. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating project activities, managing timelines, and liaising between technical teams and stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on project outcomes whilst developing your project management expertise within a growing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and monitor project activities to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of engineering projects
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors and suppliers to ensure all project requirements are met and quality standards are maintained
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including schedules, budgets, progress reports and risk assessments
• Track project progress against established baselines and communicate updates to senior management and stakeholders
• Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to address potential issues
• Control project costs and maintain budget accountability throughout the project lifecycle
• Conduct site inspections and technical meetings to ensure alignment between design specifications and on-site execution
• Facilitate communication between design teams, construction teams and clients to ensure clarity on project objectives and expectations
• Assist in procurement activities, including vendor selection, quotation evaluation and contract negotiation
• Support the development of project proposals and feasibility studies for new engineering initiatives

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
• 2-5 years of experience in project engineering or project coordination within the engineering or construction industry
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and practices
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Project
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
