Project Engineer – Injection Molding

Location: Lynchburg, VA
Compensation: Open to Negotiation

We are seeking a Project Engineer to manage injection molding projects from initial kickoff through production launch. The role will work closely with Engineering, Tooling, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to customer and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage NPI, product transfers, engineering changes, and production launches
• Develop project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and budgets
• Track labor, material, tooling, overhead, and project costs
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
• Support mold/tooling design reviews, sampling, FAI, PPAP, and process validation
• Manage ECOs and technical documentation
• Identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, scrap, labor, and manufacturing costs
• Support quality, production readiness, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
• Maintain project records and provide regular status updates
• Follow applicable ISO/QMS, safety, quality, customer, and regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485 and AS9100 where applicable

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
• 2–4 years of Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, or related experience
• Experience taking engineering/manufacturing projects from kickoff through production launch
• Strong SolidWorks or similar CAD experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience with scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, and timeline management
• Experience with ECOs and technical documentation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Injection molding experience
• Mold/tooling design or design review experience
• FAI, PPAP, and process validation
• NPI / New Product Introduction
• Manufacturing process improvement experience
• Experience with ISO 13485, AS9100, or other QMS standards
