About the role

Sunlight Electrical Pte Ltd is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a pivotal role within our engineering department, based in the Boon Lay West Region. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing electrical engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring that all work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is integral to our business operations and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on our project outcomes and organisational success.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical engineering projects in accordance with project specifications, timelines, and budgetary constraints
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to identify project requirements and potential challenges
• Prepare and review project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and method statements
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery and stakeholder communication
• Manage project budgets and resources effectively, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost control
• Supervise and coordinate on-site installation and testing activities to ensure compliance with safety standards and technical requirements
• Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during project execution, implementing corrective actions as needed
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and ensure adherence to relevant electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices
• Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation for future reference and compliance purposes
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share lessons learned with the wider engineering team

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification
• Minimum of 2–3 years' experience working as a Project Engineer or in a similar engineering role within the electrical or construction industry
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and industry standards and codes
• Proficiency in project management tools and software, as well as computer-aided design (CAD) applications
• Excellent technical aptitude with the ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Problem-solving mindset with the capability to identify issues and implement practical solutions
• A commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance in all project activities
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
• Professional affiliation with relevant engineering bodies (such as Professional Engineers Board) is highly desirable
