Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer supports the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects by coordinating technical activities, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. Works closely with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Foremen, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, and subcontractors
• Ensure materials, manpower, and equipment are properly allocated
• Review and interpret project drawings, designs, and specifications
• Provide technical guidance and resolve site engineering issues
• Prepare method statements and construction procedures
• Monitor compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements
• Implement and enforce quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures
• Conduct inspections to ensure works meet approved standards
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, project management, and engineering standards
• Proficiency in project management tools, MS Office, and AutoCAD or similar software
• Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and leadership ability
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Time management and organizational skills
