Our client is a highly regarded civil infrastructure contractor with a strong track record delivering complex and technically challenging projects across New Zealand. With a reputation for quality project delivery, safety, and investing in their people, they continue to secure landmark projects throughout the infrastructure sector.
Due to ongoing growth and a significant project workload, they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team on a major wastewater treatment plant project in South Auckland.

Tō tūranga hou | Your new role

As Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of a large-scale wastewater treatment plant project, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, consultants, and subcontractors.
You will be involved in the technical, commercial, and operational aspects of project delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating day-to-day site activities and supporting project delivery teams
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers, and consultant relationships
• Preparing and reviewing work packs, methodologies, and technical documentation
• Monitoring project progress against programme and budget
• Assisting with procurement, variations, and cost control
• Supporting quality assurance and compliance processes
• Managing project reporting and stakeholder communication
• Identifying and mitigating project risks
• Ensuring projects are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements

Ngā uara me ngā pūkenga e angitu ai koe | What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have experience working on civil infrastructure, water, wastewater, utilities, or heavy construction projects within New Zealand.
You will bring:

• A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Previous experience as a Project Engineer, Site Engineer, or Senior Engineer on infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies and project delivery processes
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site activities
• Strong commercial awareness and contract administration skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• The ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing project team
• Sound knowledge of health and safety requirements within construction
• Experience working within the New Zealand construction market
• A stable and progressive career history that demonstrates commitment, reliability, and successful project delivery over the long term

Experience within water, wastewater treatment, pipelines, pump stations, or broader Three Waters infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
