Project Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Project Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

This remote role will support utility-scale battery energy storage projects through design, execution, commissioning, and ongoing technical coordination. The Project Engineer will serve as a key technical partner across internal teams, external consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders to help deliver compliant, high-quality energy infrastructure. This position also contributes to procurement support, design review, site verification, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $105,000 – $140,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Coordinate execution of utility-scale battery projects from design through commissioning
• Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned projects
• Manage technical scope, schedules, and project stakeholders
• Develop and review technical specifications and support vendor qualification
• Assist in procurement by preparing technical requirements and reviewing proposals
• Coordinate with external engineering consultants and support design meetings
• Review engineering designs and documentation to ensure quality and compliance
• Conduct site visits to verify adherence to designs and specifications
• Provide technical support during construction and troubleshoot issues
• Evaluate Factory Acceptance Test procedures and reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical experience
• Minimum of two years of project or system engineering experience related to power or electrical projects
• Familiarity with low- and medium-voltage electrical systems and installations
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Understanding of grid interconnection and energy storage codes such as UL, NFPA, and IEEE
• Willingness to travel up to 25% within Canada and the U.S.
• Experience with utility-scale battery systems or renewable energy projects is a plus
