Position Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for managing capital projects, process improvements, equipment installations, and facility upgrades in a fast-paced aluminum extrusion manufacturing environment. This role works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS teams to improve safety, efficiency, quality, and overall plant performance.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and capital improvement projects from planning through implementation.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate equipment installations, upgrades, and facility modifications.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for extrusion presses and related manufacturing equipment.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and project timelines to ensure successful execution.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing capital projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD software preferred.
• Aluminum extrusion or metals manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Physical & Working Conditions

• Combination of office and manufacturing floor environments.
• Ability to work around industrial equipment, noise, heat, and moving machinery.
• Ability to wear required PPE and walk throughout the facility as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aluminum extrusion manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
