PROJECT ENGINEER

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join IKATAN HARMONI SDN BHD in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing engineering projects from conception through to completion. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position is integral to our operations and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our project delivery capabilities and overall business success.

What you'll be doing

• Planning, scheduling and monitoring project timelines to ensure all milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time
• Co-ordinating with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, construction and quality assurance departments
• Preparing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, drawings, reports and progress updates
• Managing project budgets, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
• Conducting site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project requirements
• Identifying and mitigating project risks, developing contingency plans and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Liaising with clients, stakeholders and contractors to communicate project status and address concerns
• Preparing tender documents and specifications for procurement and vendor evaluation
• Ensuring all work complies with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations and company policies
• Supporting the project management team in administrative and technical duties as required

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline from a recognised institution
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in project engineering or a similar engineering role
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, practices and methodologies relevant to project delivery
• Proficiency in project management tools and software, including scheduling and budgeting applications
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Proficiency in technical documentation, including the ability to read, interpret and create engineering drawings and specifications
• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving project challenges
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental compliance standards within the engineering industry
• Professional certification such as Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent is advantageous
• Experience with relevant industry-specific software and tools is preferred
