Project Engineer

Job Overview

The Project Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of restaurant construction and renovation projects under The Moment Group. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with brand standards and regulatory requirements.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on project supervision, and excellent organizational and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination

• Assist in the planning, scheduling, and execution of new restaurant builds, renovations, and maintenance projects.
• Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure alignment with TMG design and brand standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and local government units to ensure timely delivery of materials, permits, and approvals.

Site Supervision & Monitoring

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to timelines and safety standards.
• Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring that workmanship and materials meet company expectations.
• Report daily or weekly site progress and escalate issues or delays to the Construction Manager.

Cost & Resource Management

• Support in managing project budgets, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Validate contractor billings and change orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project scope.
• Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers and contractors based on cost, quality, and reliability.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and internal quality control standards.
• Coordinate with Safety Officers to implement safety protocols and minimize risks on-site.

Turnover & Handover

• Facilitate project completion, punch listing, and handover to Operations and Facilities teams.
• Support post-construction activities including defect rectification and final documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Civil Engineer is highly preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction project management or engineering, preferably in F&B, retail, or commercial establishments.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, safety standards, and building codes.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools (e.g., MS Project or equivalent).
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Willing to travel or be assigned to project sites as needed.
