Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer is responsible for managing new product evaluation activities, monitoring production progress, coordinating product testing, and ensuring all electrical compliance documentation is complete and accurate. The role acts as the key liaison between suppliers, factories, testing laboratories, certification bodies, and internal teams to ensure products meet regulatory, quality, and safety requirements before market launch.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor new product development projects from concept to mass production.
• Review product specifications, technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Conduct product evaluations and technical assessments to ensure suitability for target markets.
• Support design reviews and identify potential compliance, quality, or manufacturing risks.
• Work closely with suppliers and factories to implement engineering improvements and corrective actions.
• Track project milestones and production schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
• Monitor pilot runs, trial production, and mass production activities.
• Coordinate product testing activities with internal teams and external laboratories.
• Collect, organize, and maintain electrical compliance documentation including CE Declarations of Conformity, UKCA Documentation, EMC Reports, LVD Reports, RoHS Compliance Documents, REACH Declarations, and ERP/Energy Label Documentation.
• Communicate project status, testing progress, certification status, and risks to stakeholders.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in product development, project engineering, quality engineering, or compliance engineering.
• Experience with household appliances, consumer electronics, or electrical products is preferred.
• Familiarity with certification processes for CE, UKCA, EMC, LVD, and energy efficiency regulations.
• Understanding of IEC/EN electrical safety standards, EMC requirements, CE and UKCA regulations, RoHS and REACH requirements, and factory production processes and quality systems.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
