Project Engineer

1. Supervise and coordinate the site erection, installation, alignment, bolting, and welding of structural steel works.
2. Review and interpret Structural Drawings, Shop Drawings, GA Drawings, fabrication drawings, and connection details to ensure accurate execution at site.
3. Verify dimensions, levels, coordinates, and setting-out requirements before and during steel erection activities.
4. Monitor the installation of steel columns, beams, bracings, trusses, stairs, platforms, and other structural steel components as per approved drawings and specifications.
5. Inspect incoming steel materials and ensure compliance with approved material specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
6. Monitor the quality of welding, bolted connections, alignment, tightening, and finishing works and coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams and consultants.
7. Coordinate with project managers, structural engineers, fabrication teams, subcontractors, crane operators, and site manpower to ensure smooth execution of works.
8. Identify and resolve site technical issues, drawing discrepancies, clashes, access constraints, and installation problems in coordination with the relevant engineering teams.
9. Ensure all steel erection activities are carried out in accordance with approved method statements, risk assessments, ITPs, project specifications, and applicable codes/standards.
10. Strictly enforce HSE requirements, particularly for working at height, lifting operations, scaffolding, crane operations, and hot works.
11. Monitor daily manpower, equipment, material availability, and work progress to achieve project schedules and targets.
12. Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports, site inspection requests, work records, and other required site documentation.
13. Coordinate with the workshop/fabrication team regarding fabrication status, material availability, delivery schedules, and site requirements.
14. Monitor labor productivity and ensure efficient utilization of manpower, equipment, cranes, manlifts, and other site resources.
15. Coordinate with QA/QC teams for WIR/MIR submissions, inspections, testing, and approvals.
16. Ensure proper housekeeping, material storage, and protection of completed steel works at site.
17. Assist in planning erection sequences and identifying potential site constraints and delays before they affect the project schedule.
18. Maintain accurate records of site activities, quantities completed, material requirements, and outstanding works.
19. Coordinate with consultants and main contractors during site inspections, technical discussions, and resolution of construction-related issues.
20. Ensure all works are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
2. 3–4 years of relevant site experience in structural steel fabrication, erection, and installation works.
3. Hands-on experience in steel structure construction, PEB systems, structural steel erection, and metal structures.
4. Strong knowledge of steel columns, beams, bracings, trusses, platforms, stairs, and other structural components.
5. Ability to read and interpret Structural Drawings, Shop Drawings, GA Drawings, fabrication drawings, connection details, and erection drawings.
6. Good understanding of steel connections, bolting, welding, alignment, leveling, and erection procedures.
7. Experience in coordinating with fabrication workshops, subcontractors, consultants, main contractors, and site teams.
8. Knowledge of QA/QC procedures, WIR/MIR, inspection requirements, method statements, ITPs, and project specifications.
9. Strong awareness of HSE requirements, particularly for working at height, lifting operations, crane operations, scaffolding, and hot works.
10. Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to review drawings and identify site discrepancies or clashes.
11. Good knowledge of surveying, setting-out, measurements, levels, and site coordination.
12. Ability to identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues efficiently at site.
13. Strong skills in site supervision, manpower coordination, progress monitoring, and reporting.
14. Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively under tight project schedules and site conditions.
15. Must be willing to work on construction sites and coordinate with multiple teams.
16. Candidates with experience in UAE/GCC steel construction projects will be preferred.
17. Immediate joiners / candidates available to join within a short notice period will be preferred.
