Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of construction experience to manage and coordinate engineering activities across construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day engineering activities at the construction site.
• Review and coordinate construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project management teams.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure work follows approved drawings and project specifications.
• Prepare and review technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and material approvals.
• Resolve technical issues and coordinate necessary design changes.
• Monitor project schedules and support the Project Manager in achieving milestones.
• Ensure construction activities comply with quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate testing and commissioning activities where applicable.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Review subcontractor work and ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
• Participate in coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Assist with quantity verification, material requirements, and project cost control.
• Ensure proper handover documentation, as-built drawings, and completion records are maintained.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, depending on the project.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant construction/project engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Experience working with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
• Good knowledge of project planning, quality control, and site coordination.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant project management software.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Relevant professional certification or local engineering registration is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in the GCC/UAE construction industry is preferred.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple site activities.
• Knowledge of applicable local building codes, standards, and HSE requirements.
