What they need
Job Description: Project Engineer (PE)
Job Summary
The Project Engineer role does not own final engineering decisions, execution commitments, or field-driven design changes.
This role exists to execute, validate, and escalate against established engineering standards.
As a Project Engineer, you are a key guardian of engineering logic, construction correctness, and procedural integrity. You bridge high-level engineering standards with real-world field execution through precise documentation, rigorous validation, and disciplined escalation.
Success in this role is defined not by speed or improvisation, but by ensuring every installation consistently reflects approved method statements, QA/QC criteria, and established best practices.
Bilingual in English AND Mandarin is REQUIRED
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Standardization & Method Statements
- Develop, maintain, and execute Method Statements based on established engineering logic frameworks.
- Ensure all documentation related to materials, tools, sequences, and procedures is complete, structured, and unambiguous.
- Validate that method statements reflect actual field constraints while remaining compliant with approved standards.
- Ensure deviations are escalated, not independently resolved.
- QA/QC Framework Development & Enforcement
- Create and continuously refine QA/QC checklists aligned with internal standards and client requirements.
- Define clear inspection points, acceptance criteria, and verification steps.
- Ensure QA/QC documentation is complete, traceable, and auditable.
- Support PMs and field teams by clarifying standards—not by redefining them.
- Field Compliance & Validation
- Conduct site audits to verify field execution complies with approved Method Statements and QA/QC criteria.
- Identify non-conformances, inconsistencies, or execution risks early.
- Provide structured, factual feedback for technical review and escalation.
- Do not authorize field changes; deviations must be escalated through proper channels.
- Knowledge Management & Engineering Memory
- Maintain a structured engineering knowledge base covering:
- Approved methods
- Lessons learned
- Recurrent field issues
- Standardized solutions
- Ensure engineering knowledge is documented, searchable, and reusable.
- Prevent reliance on individual memory or informal knowledge transfer.
- Interface Analysis & Site Surveys
- Perform site surveys to study equipment interfaces, routing constraints, spatial conflicts, and installation conditions.
- Provide accurate and structured data to support higher-level engineering and planning decisions.
- Identify interface risks early and escalate before execution impacts schedule or quality.
Technical Requirements
- Hands-on field experience in system installation, testing, or commissioning is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong ability to interpret:
- Technical drawings
- Specifications
- Engineering codes and standards
- Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to break down complex processes into standardized, logical steps.
- Proficiency in English for technical documentation and cross-functional coordination.
Core Attributes & Behavioral Standards
Accountability
- Owns assigned execution, documentation, and validation tasks end-to-end.
- Delivers clearly defined outputs with no expectation that rework will be absorbed by others.
Operational Discipline
- Demonstrates high adherence to approved procedures and Method Statements.
- Avoids unauthorized field improvisation, even under schedule pressure.
Procedural Integrity
- Believes that “doing it right according to the standard” is the highest form of professional excellence.
- Values consistency and correctness over speed or personal preference.
Escalation Judgment
- Recognizes immediately when a field condition deviates from standard.
- Escalates deviations clearly and promptly rather than troubleshooting independently.
- Understands that escalation is responsibility, not failure.
Analytical Rigor
- Maintains a zero-compromise approach to technical correctness.
- Detects anomalies, inconsistencies, or hidden risks through disciplined observation and analysis.
Structured Thinking
- Works efficiently within defined organizational templates and systems.
- Maintains logical consistency across documentation, inspections, and validation cycles.
- Supports scalability by reinforcing systems—not by becoming a single point of reliance.
Benefits:
- 401(k)
- 401(k) 3% Match
- 401(k) matching
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
- Vision insurance
