Project Engineer

Located in Dallas, Texas, the Skorburg Company is a leading real estate land development firm focused primarily on single family lot development and land investment. Currently, the company has approximately thirty (30) active projects in various phases of planning, development, or in sell-out throughout the DFW area.

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented single-family designer or EIT who seeks a long-term, fulfilling career with a highly successful, experienced, and privately-held single-family development company. This position offers a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to be a key part of a talented team that is continually working on numerous single-family lot development and land investment projects.

This position requires the ability to land plan, design, estimate construction costs, and provide support as needed for construction of lot developments. The following is a brief outline of the steps to be taken and responsibilities for this position:

• Create land plans for new projects that conform to zoning requirements
• Preliminary engineering and cost estimating for new projects
• Review civil design and construction drawings from outside engineering firms
• Track schedules for construction drawing submittals and approvals
• Assist land acquisition department with identifying development constraints for new pursuits
• Assist land acquisition department with cost estimating for new pursuits
• Address site plan comments from city staff on zoning submittals
• Assist with zoning and entitlement efforts on new and current projects
• Assist construction department with bidding out new projects
• Work with finance and accounting departments on monthly construction draws for current projects
• Autodesk Civil 3D experience – 3 years minimum
• Single-family development design experience – 3 years minimum

Requirements – Ideal candidate will be a Civil 3D designer with 5 plus years in single-family land development. This person must be sound fundamentally and have strong analytical problem-solving skills. The person must enjoy detail and follow up work to see a project to completion.
