Project Engineer

About the role

Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates. Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
• Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions
• Controls project costs by monitoring expenditures; administering contractor contracts
• Monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications in coordination with Safety Officer and QA Manager
• Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, contractor's performance) and report regularly on project status

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered Mechanical Engineer
• Minimum of 5 years proven experience in project management
• Familiar with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
• Able to work with multiple discipline projects
• Strong knowledge of design and visualization softwares such as AutoCAD and Sketch-Up
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Willing to travel, as may be needed, for site visit and inspection
