Project Engineer

FlexTrades is seeking a Project Engineer to lead engineering projects supporting rotating equipment, fluid systems, and other complex mechanical products . This role will drive qualification and validation efforts, coordinate testing programs, analyze performance data, and work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and operations teams.

Products may include rotating mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, motors, turbines, compressors, valves, power transmission equipment, and similar mechanical systems.

This position supports a major manufacturing client near Cleveland, Ohio. FlexTrades has paid travel time, paid lodging, and daily per diem.

Contract Details:

• $65.00/hour

• Guaranteed 50 hours per week (10 hours paid at time-and-a-half)

• Climate-controlled facility

• Travel pay provided

• Company-paid lodging

• Daily per diem

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead engineering projects from requirements review through testing, validation, and implementation

• Develop test plans, test procedures, and technical reports

• Coordinate qualification and verification testing activities

• Analyze test data and provide engineering recommendations

• Support FMEA, root cause investigations, and corrective actions

• Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to improve product performance, reliability, and operational efficiency

• Work directly with cross-functional teams to drive projects to successful completion

Qualifications :

• 5-10+ years of engineering or project engineering experience

• Experience leading qualification, validation, or testing programs

• Ability to interpret customer specifications and define technical requirements

• Experience writing test procedures, analyzing data, and authoring engineering reports

• FMEA and risk assessment experience

• Experience with rotating mechanical equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, motors, turbines, compressors, valves, or similar systems preferred

• Background in industrial equipment, aerospace, defense, power generation, automotive, heavy equipment, fluid power, or related industries

• Positive displacement pump experience (gear, vane, gerotor, triplex, etc.) is a plus

Pay and Benefits:

• Pay: $65.00 per hour
• Guaranteed 10 hours OT pay each week. Overtime Each Week paid at time and a half
