What they need
Who is BeckTV?
BeckTV is a premier design-build systems integrator specializing in broadcast and media technology. With over 30 years of experience, we’ve partnered with major sports franchises, television networks, and production companies to deliver cutting-edge solutions—from full IP-based control rooms to mobile production units.
Job Summary
The Project Engineer serves as the technical lead responsible for transforming system designs into successful client outcomes. Combining engineering expertise, project execution, and field leadership, this role oversees the implementation of complex broadcast and media technology integration projects from kickoff through commissioning.
As the primary on-site representative of BeckTV, the Project Engineer works closely with clients, technicians, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with engineering documentation, equipment configuration and testing, technical troubleshooting, team leadership, and customer relationship management.
This is a travel-intensive position requiring significant time at customer sites across the United States. A strong field presence is essential to support project execution, foster client relationships, and ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead technical execution of small to mid-sized broadcast integration projects and support Senior Engineers on larger, more complex engagements.
· Develop, maintain, and manage engineering documentation, including drawings, spreadsheets, signal flow documents, and project records.
· Configure, test, commission, and troubleshoot broadcast and IP-based systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
· Serve as the primary on-site engineering resource during installation, coordinating closely with wire technicians, integration crews, vendors, and clients.
· Translate system designs into actionable installation plans and ensure implementation aligns with engineering intent and BeckTV standards.
· Track design changes, maintain documentation accuracy, and communicate updates across project stakeholders.
· Establish daily and weekly project objectives, monitor progress, and proactively address technical or operational challenges.
· Coordinate with project teams to ensure crews arrive prepared, informed, and equipped for successful execution.
· Communicate directly with clients throughout installation and commissioning, providing status updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive project experience.
· Troubleshoot and resolve system, design, documentation, and integration issues as they arise.
· Support system acceptance testing, commissioning activities, and project closeout documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
· 5+ years of experience in broadcast systems integration, systems engineering, technical operations, or related experience.
· Strong understanding of broadcast infrastructure, signal flow, networking, routing, audio/video systems, control systems, and equipment integration.
· Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, engineering drawings, and system records.
· Demonstrated ability to configure, test, commission, and troubleshoot complex technology systems.
· Proven ability to lead field activities, coordinate installation teams, and manage competing priorities in dynamic environments.
· Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
· College degree in Engineering, Technology, Broadcast, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience is highly valued.
· Willingness to travel and work on client sites throughout project installation and commissioning phases.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Broadcast Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Ability to learn, adopt, and utilize BeckFlow for documentation and workflow management
- Ability to read and produce technical system drawings and signal flows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Comfort working with digital documentation systems or platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data organization, and spreadsheet-based reporting.
- Willingness and ability to travel as project needs require.
- This position is based in office and requires regular on-site attendance.
- Must pass a background check and provide proof of U.S. work eligibility.
