Project Engineer

PROJECT ENGINEER

We are looking for an enthusiastic Project Engineer to work in our busy Engineering department both on their own projects and also providing support to our Project Managers. Working as part of our Project Delivery Team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities include but not restricted to:

· Attendance of UK wide client sites for regular meetings to cover all aspects of projects. Also perform regular client site visits to manage progress and monitor any projects being worked on, providing support to site, construction and remote delivery teams at all stages

· Analyse and understand client specifications and ensure projects are designed to meet their requirements in an efficient and safe manner

· Assist in the preparation of project budgets & track and report on costs as required

· Responsible for the coordination and delivery of projects ranging in value and complexity, ensuring all projects to be undertaken are completed to budget, scope, and program

· During the procurement process, identify and pre-qualify subcontractors, produce specifications for purchasing materials and equipment, respond to queries, analyse bids, make award recommendations, and place orders ensuring all design and procurement activities are carried out in line with the requirements of the company’s procedures

· Understand the contractual arrangements of a project and ensure that they are not compromised due to design or procurement issues

· Proficient in AutoCad to produce drawings and issue manufacturing instructions, making sure that any alterations to the design and specifications are properly communicated

· Adhere to all HR and H&S policies and procedures and undertake the writing of RAMS

· Undertake any other such duties considered to be commensurate with the experience of the post holder and the requirements of the post

Required Skills:

• Previous experience in a Project Engineering role
• Mechanical / Electrical Engineering qualification
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Microsoft Project
• Good working Knowledge of AutoCad
• Handling and processing information and data
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and independently
• Ability to travel, plan, manage and prioritise own workload
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels both in our works and on client sites
• Full driving license
