Project Engineer - Earthworks | Western Sydney
3-6 month contract | ASAP start | Competitive daily rate
Our client, a leading civil contractor, is looking for a Project Engineer to join a large-scale earthworks project in Western Sydney. This is an immediate start, so if you're available now and have bulk earthworks experience, we'd like to hear from you.
 
The role
You'll work alongside the Project Manager and Construction Manager to support the day-to-day delivery of the earthworks scope, balancing site presence with project administration. Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating and supporting the delivery of bulk earthworks, including cut and fill, trimming, drainage and subgrade preparation
• Liaising with the supervisors, subcontractors and the survey team to plan and sequence works
• Managing subcontractor claims, variations and progress reporting
• Preparing and monitoring work packages, ITPs, SWMS and quality documentation
• Tracking quantities, costs and programme, and reporting progress against targets
• Supporting the delivery of HSEQ requirements on site, including inspections, hold points and close-outs
• Preparing RFIs, managing design changes and maintaining accurate records

About you

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer on civil earthworks or large-scale civil projects
• A solid understanding of earthworks methodologies, compaction, materials management and quality requirements
• Strong commercial awareness, with experience supporting subcontractor management and cost reporting
• Good communication skills, with the ability to work well with site crews, subcontractors and the client
• Current NSW driver's licence and the ability to work on site in Western Sydney
• Current White Card (mandatory); additional tickets are an advantage
• Must have full working rights in Australia
