Your new local council
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Project Engineer to join a high-performing local government infrastructure team on a 12-month contract. Working within a capital works environment, you will contribute to the delivery of essential infrastructure projects that support growing communities and create lasting benefits for residents.

Your new role
As Project Engineer, you will oversee the planning, design, procurement and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from concept through to construction. Working closely with contractors, consultants and key stakeholders, you'll manage project budgets, timelines and approvals across a portfolio of roads, drainage, bridge and infrastructure improvement projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the delivery of civil infrastructure projects from investigation and planning through to construction.
• Coordinate and deliver capital works projects on time and within budget.
• Oversee consultants, contractors and contract administration activities.
• Prepare project briefs, technical reports and project documentation.
• Liaise with stakeholders, utility authorities, government agencies and the wider community.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditure and progress reporting.
• Support the delivery of roads, drainage and bridge infrastructure projects.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will bring:

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer registration in Victoria or eligibility to obtain registration.
• Demonstrated experience delivering civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong project management and contract administration experience.
• Knowledge of procurement, construction delivery and stakeholder management.
• Experience working on roads, drainage, bridges or municipal infrastructure projects.
• Local government experience highly regarded.
