Project Engineer

About the role

Nestcon Builders Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic construction team based in Penang Island. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Monitoring project progress and ensuring all activities remain on schedule and within budget parameters
• Conducting site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards
• Coordinating with architects, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate seamless project execution
• Preparing and maintaining detailed project documentation, including progress reports, drawings and technical specifications
• Managing project timelines and identifying risks that may impact delivery schedules
• Liaising with clients to address concerns, provide updates and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle
• Conducting material testing and quality assurance procedures to maintain construction standards
• Supporting the Project Manager with budget forecasting and cost control measures
• Participating in project meetings and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management or site engineering roles
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and industry regulations in Malaysia
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels
• Problem-solving abilities with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Experience with scheduling, budgeting and resource management
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
• Experience with high rise building will be an added advantage
