Project Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Project Engineer with 10+ years of experience in managing and executing civil construction projects. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to handle project planning, execution, quality control, safety, and coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor civil construction projects from initiation to completion.
• Manage day-to-day site activities and ensure work progresses according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Supervise civil construction works, including foundations, RCC structures, steel structures, flooring, masonry, and finishing works, as applicable.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and site teams.
• Review engineering drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project documents before execution.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules, resource plans, and daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and applicable construction codes.
• Monitor project costs, material consumption, manpower deployment, and equipment utilization.
• Identify project risks, resolve technical issues, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Verify measurements, contractor bills, and work completion reports.
• Ensure timely procurement and availability of construction materials in coordination with the purchase and stores teams.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure adherence to approved construction methods and procedures.
• Maintain project documentation, including work progress reports, inspection records, and as-built drawings.
• Lead and guide site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other project personnel.
• Coordinate with clients and management regarding project progress, technical matters, and completion targets.
• Ensure timely handover of completed projects in accordance with client requirements.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, structural works, and site execution.
• Excellent project planning, scheduling, and execution skills.
• Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity estimation, rate analysis, and cost control.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Excel; knowledge of MS Project or Primavera is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple activities and meet strict project deadlines.

Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in civil construction and project execution.
• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Proven experience handling site execution, subcontractors, manpower, materials, and project schedules.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or PEB-related civil projects will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to travel or relocate based on project requirements.
