Project Engineer

Project Engineer | Wilmer, TX

Nexus Data Centers is hiring experienced Project Engineers for our manufacturing facility in Wilmer, Texas.

What You’ll Do

• Manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings between engineering, design teams, equipment vendors, subcontractors, and facility staff
• Track and support change order documentation, cost coding, and schedule impacts for facility buildout and equipment installation
• Coordinate with construction and operations leads on daily progress, look-ahead schedules, and material and equipment logistics
• Assist with QA/QC documentation and inspection tracking across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes, including production line and process equipment installation
• Support subcontractor and vendor buyout, scope reviews, and contract compliance
• Maintain project documentation, including drawings, specs, redlines, equipment manuals, and closeout packages
• Support commissioning and startup of facility systems and production equipment as the plant moves from construction to operations
• Help establish documentation standards and processes for a new facility, and coordinate with the Hubbard project team on component specifications and delivery needs
• Enforce site safety standards and support incident and near-miss reporting

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management (or equivalent field experience)
• 10 years of experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing facility, power generation, utility-scale, or large-scale commercial construction
• Working knowledge of Procore, Primavera P6 or MS Project, and Bluebeam
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment where processes are still being built, with direct access to our engineering and project leadership
• Ability to be on-site full-time in Wilmer, Texas

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Regularly divides time between an office or trailer and active construction and plant areas, standing and walking on uneven ground or concrete floors for extended periods
• Climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding, and work at heights or in confined spaces as scope requires
• Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and grasping
• Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and high noise levels typical of Texas conditions and industrial manufacturing settings
• Wear required PPE on site at all times, including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility clothing, and steel-toed boots, plus hearing protection and other equipment as required in production areas
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel across the facility grounds daily
• Extended hours, including occasional nights and weekends, as the construction and startup schedule requires
