Project Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Project Engineer to oversee and coordinate engineering projects from planning to completion. The successful candidate will ensure that project activities are completed on schedule, meet technical and quality standards, comply with safety requirements, and stay within approved budgets.

This role involves coordinating with internal teams, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation, monitor site readiness, resolve technical concerns, and maintain accurate project documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate project schedules, resources, and implementation activities.
• Conduct site inspections and assessments to determine site readiness, technical requirements, and potential project constraints.
• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, bills of quantities (BOQs), and other project documents.
• Monitor project progress and ensure activities are completed according to approved plans, schedules, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, Operations, Engineering, and other stakeholders regarding manpower, materials, equipment, and project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors, technicians, and field personnel.
• Identify project risks, delays, and technical issues, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor performance, validate completed work, and ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards.
• Coordinate site requirements, including electricity, internet connectivity, civil works, equipment availability, permits, and site access.
• Prepare weekly project status reports, maintain project trackers, and escalate critical issues to the Project Manager.
• Ensure proper documentation of site inspections, installations, testing, commissioning, and project accomplishments.
• Coordinate project turnover to Operations or the designated receiving department, ensuring all required documents and deliverables are complete.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 2–5 years of relevant experience in project engineering, construction, telecommunications, infrastructure deployment, electrical systems, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating contractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
• Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with project management tools and tracking systems.
• Knowledge of quality control, safety procedures, and technical documentation.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, and coordinate with different stakeholders.
• Willingness to conduct field inspections and travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant professional engineering license, where applicable.
• Experience in site inspections, installation monitoring, testing and commissioning, and project turnover.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering design software.
