Project Engineer

Devlyn Construction is privately owned and has been established in Western Australia for over 30 years. We are a leading commercial contractor that specialises in delivering projects across a range of sectors in WA’s metropolitan and regional locations.

Due to continued growth and success, we currently have a position for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Perth operations based at our Rockingham Hospital project.

THE ROLE

• Leading quality assurance activities, including inspections, audits, and testing protocols
• Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to identify quality-related issues and develop effective solutions
• Conducting regular reviews of project processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency
• Providing guidance and support to project teams on quality management best practices
• Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators related to project quality objectives
• Facilitating training sessions to enhance understanding of quality requirements and expectations among project personnel
• Acting as a point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies during quality assessments
• Coordinate technical documentation, drawings and design requirements.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and internal construction teams.
• Monitor programme, quality and project delivery milestones.
• Work alongside experienced Project Managers and Contract Administrators.
• Managing project scope and ensuring works are delivered in line with contractual requirements
• Preparing and issuing technical and commercial project documentation
• Maintaining project documentation and document control processes
• Identifying project risks and contributing to risk reviews
• Attending internal and client project meetings
• Providing WHS support to the project team
• Supporting lessons learned and non-conformance investigations
• Working closely with site and field teams throughout project delivery
• Maintain client relationships, attend meetings and respond to project requirements

ABOUT YOU

To be successful with Devlyn, the ideal candidate will have:

• Experience as a Project Engineer with a commercial or healthcare construction contractor.
• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong technical understanding of commercial construction.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing technical packages.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of construction projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills
• High attention to detail with a proactive approach
• Experience across project reporting, cost control, scheduling and documentation
