Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and managing Building Management System projects, including installation, commissioning, integration, and maintenance. This role ensures that BMS projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet design specifications and quality standards. The Project Engineer also oversees maintenance activities, supports troubleshooting systems, and coordinates with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate BMS projects, including installation, commissioning, and integration of building systems.
• Define project scope, schedule, milestones, and resource requirements.
• Prepare project documentation, including specifications, drawings, schedules, and reports.
• Review BMS system designs, control logic, and integration plans to ensure compliance with standards and operational requirements.
• Assist in developing system architecture, control sequences, and network configurations.
• Coordinate commissioning activities, including factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
• Ensure proper integration of HVAC, lighting, energy management, access control, and other automated building systems.
• Ensure smooth operation of BMS systems, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution with technical teams.
• Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain up-to-date as-built drawings, control logic diagrams, manuals, and maintenance logs.
