We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team. The Project Engineer supports the successful design, coordination, and fabrication of architectural and structural steel building systems and components. Working as part of an integrated team, this role applies engineering principles, project management practices, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills to translate project requirements into accurate, practical solutions. The Project Engineer collaborates with customers, engineers, and internal departments to manage technical details, schedules, quality, and project priorities from initial design through production and delivery.

Duties

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate the technical and production aspects of projects
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
• Provide ongoing communication and collaboration with the engineering department, customer, and Company Management to ensure successful project completion
• Perform detailed material takeoffs from blueprints and drawings to accurately quantify building materials
• Prepare projects and/or material sales cost estimations and present quotes to customers
• Maintain current knowledge of engineering practices and standards, industry and product knowledge, and workplace safety and health regulations
• Perform general troubleshooting when problems arise
• Coordinate with Company Management regarding the production schedule and timeline for completion of materials
• Act as primary point of contact for customers throughout project implementation, providing regular communication and any necessary follow-up
• Facilitate/arrange shipment of materials to the customer

Additional Duties:

• Follow and comply with company policies regarding quote development, production scheduling, and corporate terms and conditions
• Perform administrative duties as needed
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
• Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or MBS is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail
• Superior organization skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in the construction industry is required
• Knowledge of International Building Code guidelines
• Excellent critical thinking skills and problem-solving ability

Physical Requirements:

• Fairly sedentary work with prolonged sitting
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, twisting on occasion, climbing ladders as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Rarely, the Project Engineer may be required to conduct a site visit, which may include walking on a variety of terrains/surfaces, climbing stairs, lifting or moving objects, and may require the use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, and appropriate footwear
