Project Engineer

About the role

Maytech Cleanroom Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Mantin, Negeri Sembilan. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the successful planning, execution, and delivery of our cleanroom manufacturing projects. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing project timelines, budgets, and quality standards whilst ensuring all deliverables meet our clients' specifications and industry regulations. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the construction and cleanroom manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule project activities, resources, and timelines to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular status reports for senior management and clients
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including contractors, suppliers, and internal departments to facilitate seamless project execution
• Conduct site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Manage project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, permits, and contractual agreements
• Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential issues
• Communicate with clients regarding project progress, changes, and any issues that may impact delivery
• Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and supplier reliability
• Support the resolution of technical and logistical challenges that arise during the construction phase
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the project management process

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in project engineering within the construction or manufacturing sector, preferably with cleanroom or controlled environment experience
• Proven expertise in project planning, scheduling, and budget management
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, safety protocols, and relevant regulatory compliance standards
• Proficiency in project management software and tools such as MS Project, AutoCAD, or equivalent platforms
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is preferred
• Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems is advantageous
