About the Company

AST Plus Technical Services LLC is a Dubai-based technical services company involved in construction-related works, interior fit-out, refurbishment, and associated technical projects. We are looking for a competent, proactive, and result-oriented Project Engineer who can manage site operations, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, maintain quality standards, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within the approved budget.

About the Role

Do you have the confidence to manage project activities, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and ensure high-quality project delivery in a fast-paced construction environment?

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of assigned projects. The ideal candidate must have sound engineering knowledge, practical site experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to take ownership of project deliverables from commencement through final handover.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Execution

• Develop and implement project execution plans, work schedules, milestones, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate daily site activities to ensure work progresses according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned projects within the approved scope, budget, and quality requirements.

2. Site Management and Technical Coordination

• Supervise and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, technicians, subcontractors, and other project personnel.
• Review architectural, structural, civil, and relevant MEP drawings to ensure proper execution on site.
• Identify technical discrepancies, resolve site-related engineering issues, and coordinate with consultants and clients when required.
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship, productivity, and material usage.

3. Cost Control and Procurement

• Prepare project cost estimates, material requirements, and resource forecasts.
• Coordinate with the procurement and store teams to ensure timely availability of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Monitor material consumption, labour productivity, and project expenditure to minimize unnecessary costs and wastage.
• Coordinate with the Quantity Surveyor and commercial team regarding variations, additional works, and cost implications.

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Ensure all project works comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.
• Conduct inspections and coordinate testing to verify the quality and performance of completed works.
• Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Ensure compliance with UAE health, safety, environmental, and relevant site requirements.

5. Client and Stakeholder Coordination

• Attend project meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Provide regular progress updates, highlight project risks, and recommend practical solutions.
• Coordinate technical submissions, material approvals, inspection requests, and other project-related documentation.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders throughout project execution.

6. Documentation and Project Handover

• Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, progress reports, drawings, inspection records, and project correspondence.
• Monitor project schedules and prepare periodic progress reports for management.
• Coordinate snagging, rectification, testing, commissioning where applicable, and final project handover.
• Ensure all relevant as-built drawings, operation manuals, warranties, and handover documents are completed as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3-4 years of UAE proven experience as a Project Engineer in construction, interior fit-out, refurbishment, or technical services projects in UAE.
• UAE project experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and site execution procedures.
• Proven ability to manage multiple activities, coordinate site teams, and meet project deadlines.
• Experience in material planning, cost control, procurement coordination, quality inspections, and project reporting.
• Knowledge of UAE construction practices, site safety requirements, and relevant authority or consultant approval processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and project planning tools such as MS Project is preferred.
• Ability to interpret drawings, identify technical issues, and recommend practical and cost-effective solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, leadership, and coordination skills.
