Project Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Project Engineer to lead and manage engineering projects from inception to completion. You will take ownership of project delivery, driving site execution, managing client relationships, controlling project budgets, and ensuring strict compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project execution, progress tracking, and site coordination from award through commissioning and handover.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and manage master project schedules (Gantt charts), progress claims, cost estimations, and variation orders.
• Identify potential project risks early, propose technical solutions, and implement corrective actions.
• Supervise site engineers, subcontractors, and installation teams to ensure work aligns with project specifications.
• Manage material procurement, resource allocation, and project cost controls to ensure profitability.
• Oversee factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and formal project handover.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 6 years of proven experience in project engineering within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Industrial plant environments.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes, technical specifications, safety protocols, and contract management.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Malaysia.
• Possess a valid driving licence and own transport.
