Project Engineer

The Project Engineer is to undertake assigned, and/or initiate improvement engineering projects within the plant, to ensure projects are completed and handover safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with food safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Management

·       Develop project scopes, objectives, timelines and budgets

·       Prepare project proposals, feasibility studies and justifications

·       Develop detailed engineering specifications and project execution plans

·       Coordinate all project phases from concept through commissioning

·       Monitor project progress and take corrective actions when necessary

Engineering Design & Technical Support

·       Draft/Review engineering drawings, layouts, and technical specifications

·       Support plant modifications, machinery installations and process enhancements

·       Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements

·       Ensure engineering designs comply with industry standards and regulations

Equipment Installation & Commissioning

·       Coordinate installation of production machinery, utilities, and process equipment

·       Supervise contractor activities during construction and installation

·       Conduct equipment testing, validation and commissioning

·       Develop startup and operational qualification procedures

·       Ensure successful handover of completed projects to operations and maintenance teams

·       Ensure projects comply with GMP, HACCP requirements, FSSC/ISO standards, Occupational safety regulations and also environmental regulations

Continuous Improvement

·       Identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity enhancement  and cost reduction

·       Initiate and implement energy-saving and sustainability projects

·       Workplace safety improvement

Primary Objectives:

1)      Deliver engineering projects according to approved scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements

2)      Improve manufacturing productivity, operational efficiency and plant reliability

3)      Ensure all projects comply with food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000/ISO 22000 requirements and local regulations

4. Plan, coordinate and execute engineering projects to ensure completion within approved scope, budget, timeline and quality standards

Requirements :

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/ Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent field

• 2 to 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

• Experience in managing Mechanical & Electrical Projects and/or Food Processing Equipment installation and commissioning

• Work experience in food processing and manufacturing environment

• To be based in both office and manufacturing plant environments, exposed to production machinery and moving equipment, wet humid, hot or cold processing areas and manufacturing operations
