Project Engineer

Job Purpose:

To plan, coordinate, and execute projects related to food-processing equipment, plant expansion, machinery installation, and commissioning, ensuring completion within approved timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Role & responsibilities

Coordinate projects, greenfield and brownfield projects, plant expansion, modernization, and new plant setup activities.

• Coordinate preparation and review of PDEP (Project Design and Engineering Package), technical specifications, engineering drawings, layouts, and equipment requirements.

• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, contractors, and internal departments for technical evaluation, procurement, fabrication, delivery, and project execution.

• Monitor CAPEX utilization, project expenditure, budget deviations, and cost optimization opportunities.

• Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, and utility-related activities as per project requirements.

• Ensure timely equipment erection, installation, testing, trial runs, commissioning, and performance validation.

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Utilities, Procurement, Finance, and Safety and Environment teams to ensure smooth project execution.

• Ensure equipment and plant layouts comply with food safety, hygienic design, GMP, statutory, and safety requirements.

• Monitor project milestones, identify execution risks, resolve technical issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize delays and cost overruns.

• Ensure completion of vendor documentation, equipment manuals, operating procedures, training, and handover to respective departments.

• Prepare periodic project progress reports, CAPEX utilization reports, and commissioning status updates for management review.

• Ensure project closure, documentation, and verification of installed equipment and systems against approved specifications and performance parameters.

Preferred candidate profile

Relevant experience of minimum 3-5 years
